"Happy Holidays"

Well... Christmas is three days away... Hope everyone has their Christmas shopping done. Me and Turtle finished yesterday. You keep hearing that the stores are hurting because no one is spending money. You sure couldn't tell yesterday. Every store we went into was packed with long lines. Oh well... i guess it is that time of year.

I still have not made it out ice fishing yet. Today Sunday December 21st it is -1 degree. makes fishing a little uncomfortable. Next weekend looks like a good possibility. My buddy Pops, my son Tucker and I will try to get out on Saturday.

Have a great week, and a great Christmas. I will post over the holiday.

Merry CHRISTMAS!!!

Hey All...Well i made it through another Thanks giving without gaining tons of weight. It is now December and Christmas is right around the corner. Ice fishing season is also here. It is time to get the gear out and ready. I am planning to fish next weekend hopefully if my schedule;e allows.

My buddy Pops has built himself a new ice fishing pole this year. He will unveil it our first trip out. It should be interesting. He has created a couple different tip ups over the years and they have all preformed very well.

Until next time, Chow for Now!!!!

11202008 The End Has Arrived"

Well finished up the last assessment for Technical Communications class. The final assessment has us working with Adobe Acrobat, and Dragon Naturally Speaking. Both are awesome software. I found the Dragon software to be the coolest. I really enjoyed the trial version. All you do is open the tool bar and open a application such as a word processor and turn the microphone on and start speaking.

This class has been a great accompaniment for my degree. It has allowed me to try and work with different technologies that i have not had the opportunity to work with.

My hat goes off to Julie my instructor. "Thanks for making this semester fun and a learning experience."

I will keep this Blog going. I will post things that are going on and things that are happening. Maybe just post things that are stupid...

So as always feel free to leave a comment... Till next Post.... "Chow for Now"

11/18/2008 "Nearing The End"

Today i am working on the last learning plan assessments. All is going well. I been playing around with the Dragon Naturally Speaking. it is cool software used for dictation. I can see where this would be a help full tool in the business world.
I am also playing with the Adobe Acrobat. This software is a useful tool. I recommend buying it. It took forever to download it from the Internet. this software also is very useful. Too bad it is so expensive to purchase. Well back to the work. I will post thursday to let everyone know how the assignments work out. as always, please feel free to leave a comment.

Have a Great Day,

Today we are working on Video conferencing in class. It is cool technology, however if you want quality you need to pay for it. I like the Adobe product. It works well. You do want a fast Internet. That is why businesses with T1 lines would benefit from this. I also like Web EX.

Two more learning plans and this class is completed. It has been a fun class, with all the technologies we have experienced. That's all for today will blog again soon.

Learning Plan Five and Six.

Today I continued on with learning plan five and six. They have to do with digital and audio technologies. It is fun playing around with the different types of technologies and adding them together. I have made a test video for the discussions folder of myself with background music. I think it turned out ok.

I need to put together my PowerPoint presentation and these two Learning Plans will be complete. As always feel free to leave a comment if you like.

09/25/2008 LP-2

Today i worked on the E-mail and fax assessment for LP 2. I used the student email instead of my Microsoft Outlook. The web based Outlook is nice to use, however i do like the full Outlook. There are many more features that come in handy when you are working on the projects.

The fax assessment went well. I think faxing is coming to an end in the near future. The price of Fax machines and the capabilities of the Internet will aid in its extinction. I find using the computer a much easier way to handle sending material.

On another topic that has nothing to do with homework. I am wondering if this bailout of Wall street is not the biggest mistake that our elected officials are making. Working people that pay taxes cannot get a bailout from OUR government when they reach financial troubles. I for one would not mind if the government gave me money to help me when i need money.

Enough Venting....That's it for tonight. I will add another post soon. Have a great weekend.....
